An Unhappy Robinho to Be Let Go by Real

Robinho has been quite an unhappy figure recently. Real Madrid has responded, saying they are prepared to let him go and admitting they do not want to keep an unhappy player in the squad. The gifted Brazilian forward has been linked with a switch to Manchester United. It is part of a deal for Cristiano Ronaldo with Chelsea also targeting him. The Premier Club confirms that an offer has already been made for Robinho. All offers previously have been resisted by the Spanish champions in Bern Schuster’s squad, saying that he is not for sale.

On Friday, he once again expressed his desire to leave so that he and Luiz Felipe Scolari's Chelsea could come to a linkup. As stated on the official website of Real Madrid, the club has declared they, “have become aware of the declarations by the player and deeply regret their content.” . . . "Real Madrid would never want to retain a player against his wishes and as a result they have no alternative, but to accept his unilateral decision to rescind his contract if that is what the player wants."

It is now vague whether the Club is ready to negotiate an agreement on a fee for Robinho with Chelsea. Another alternative would be for Robinho to make a deal with Real to close his contract. Robinho’s contract is said to have a buyout clause of 150 million euros, equivalent to £120 million.
